I hope you’ve enjoyed this little section of my life! Can’t wait to start posting new book reviews soon (when I’ll actually have time to read again!) haha

  1. imgres

Allegiant: Yes, I still have not watched this film! Still! I’m bracing myself for what it’s going to be like. Who knows, it may surprise me, but we’ll see, I guess… Miles Teller saved Insurgent for me, so I’m ready to see more of him in this instalment!

  2. thor_official_poster

Thor (and all the Marvel movies, ever): I’ve been wanting to watch this movie, and it’s sequel for the longest time. Who wouldn’t want to watch hunky Chris Hemsworth throw around a hammer? Idk. Can’t wait to see this one!

  3. ice-age-one-sheet-running

Ice Age Collision Course: Okay, come on. I love the ice age films. I grew up with them, and continue to love them. Sid is my spirit animal, okay? So excited to see where this one takes my crazy animal childhood loves.

  4. room

Room: This one has intrigued me since I read what it was about, saw the trailer, and of course, Brie Larson’s Oscar win. Cannot wait to see what takes place in this film. It seems so unique.

  5. gone-girl-poster-31

Gone Girl: Still haven’t read the book, oops. But I love a good mystery! Can’t wait to see the craziness that is this movie. I’ve heard so much about the amount of twists and turns, and I do love a good plot twist.

  6. girl-train-poster

The Girl On The Train: Knowing this film is a book, (yet, not having read it), I was intrigued by the trailer. The trailer looks so good, I really hope I can see this one in cinemas before it leaves!

  7. suicide-squad-movie-2016-poster

Suicide Squad: Well, everyone and their dogs have seen this movie, even in my family. I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t, and that I’m missing out. Although I’ve heard this one doesn’t have the best story line/plot, I’m still looking forward to watching it and seeing what all the hype it about!

  8. 02cc1333658190-56b2c8ea3720a

Deadpool: Hmmm, this is a stretch for me. I’m not quite sure what this movie even is, well I do, but I don’t… you get me? But it’s Ryan Reynolds, so I gotta give it a try!

  9. onesheet

The Shallows: Blake Lively. Do I have to say anymore? I love her, and cannot wait to see what she did with this little movie. Looking forward to a good old shark/person war.

And that’s all I can come up with, not even 10 *sigh*.
I’m a much bigger TV person than I am movie, but I’m hoping to change that soon!
If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Until Next Time,

Kate 🙂

The 5th Wave: MOVIE REVIEW

first-looks-at-the-5th-wave-trailer-and-movie-poster-image-edited-by-me-602755

I really shouldn’t have left this review to do 2 days after, but I shall do my best…

loved this movie, yep that’s all I’ve got.

No, really. This movie was so good, simply both as a movie and as a book adaptation.

Before going into this movie I didn’t really listen to anyone else’s thoughts because I wanted my opinions to be mine and mine alone, uninfluenced, and I succeeded in that.

At first I was a bit worried because I didn’t think Chloë Grace Moretz was particularly the best choice for Cassie, but from the moment the movie started I knew it was going to be good and my worries about her went out the window. Chloë was a fantastic Cassie, along with Nick Robinson as Ben Parish, and Alex Roe as Evan Walker, I though they all did an amazing job! Also little Zackary Arthur who played Sammy was perfect for the role, literally the cuteness was unbearable.

I read The 5th Wave back in 2014 so it’s been a while, but from what I can remember they hit all the important plot points, and as I was watching the movie all the feels and memories of the book came back, which was so cool to experience. Some of the scenes were honestly SO close to what I saw in my head that it was scary. In my opinion this was an amazing adaptation of an amazing book. The novel was also quite an information dump and hard to understand at first but they executed this in the movie so so well! The film included all the important information and back stories and managed to do it really well, it was so easy to follow whilst still being entertaining!

The only thing that slightly annoyed me was Ringer, because I didn’t quite expect her to be like she was when she first showed up in the movie, however as soon as that first scene of hers was over, she became more like book Ringer and all was good again.

We didn’t get too much of an insight into what life was like at Wonderland, I think that’s what it was called, or the little characters in Ben’s group, but a movie couldn’t possibly go into as much detail as the book did about all that. So that shall be left to the people like us who actually read the book. score. Although I think they could’ve gone into a little more detail about those minor characters, but oh well.

The action in this movie was never-ending, and I never got bored as I sometimes do in movies like this cough, Insurgent, cough. Constantly entertaining and had me on edge, even though I knew most of what was going to happen. The effects and CGI was done so well, it never looked cheesy or fake, and was scarily realistic, like that wave of water going over the city, oh how I would never want that to actually happen.

I really, really hope they get enough funding from this movie to be able to make the second one, because I feel like they could do a better job than that book did, (yes I didn’t really like the second book sadly). So go see this movie guys!! Whether you’ve read the book or not you’d enjoy it i hope!!!

Yeah that’s it,

Kate 🙂

The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2: REVIEW

This is something a little different to see on my blog, but I just have so many feelings about this movie that I have to share…

tumblr_ny5fee1ZB91rab1gao1_500.jpgI saw the midnight premiere of the movie the day it came out (after almost missing it because I thought it was the next day), and absolutely loved it. When I first walked out of the movie I was a little confused as to what I thought, and overcome with all the emotions (there was alot guys) but after some thinking, I know I loved it! So, here’s all my feels-filled thoughts:

First of all I have to mention how incredible the acting was in this movie, especially by Josh and Jen. Can I just say that Josh has been my ‘celeb crush’ since the his ‘Bridge to Terabithia’ days, and I always knew he was amazing because he’s proved it countless times, but this movie, just wow, I was so blown away by the amount of emotion both him and Jen were able to portray into these characters. Without them, along with Liam, Jenna Malone, Elizabeth Banks, and Woody Harrelson, the movies wouldn’t have been as huge as they have become. Honestly though, Josh and Jen put on one of the finest performances I have ever seen in a film.

Okay, now lets talk about some specific scenes here. The scene where they’re running from the wave of black gooey stuff:

black scene.gif

I loved this scene because I feel as if it’s where the movie really kicked off and started to get super intense. It really just set the tone for the rest of the movie, and OH I just remembered, the little part right before the goo attacked them when Peeta was rocking against the wall crying and muttering, oh my gosh, that killed me. I love you Peeta/Josh.

Next we have the Mutt scene, probably the most intense thing you’ll ever watch in your life. When the Mutt popped up on the screen, there was a collective gasp in the cinema, and I’m pretty sure everyone jumped 5 seats across. I was not expecting the Mutt’s to look so zombie-ish (to be honest, I thought they were dogs), but wow was it effective. I basically held my breath the entire time, it was so well done, and heart wrenching by the end of it (if you know what I mean). Also right after it when this happened…

and this…

I died a little, okay alot.

When Katniss and Gale were dressed up and walking with everyone into the Capitol, the was so well done, and gave such a brilliant atmosphere. The parachutes coming down, everything thinking it was a good thing, and then boom, that was also great. We aren’t gonna talk about what happened after that…Although it did feel a bit rushed due to it cutting straight to Katniss in hospital after it, I would’ve liked to have seen a little longer of a reaction when ‘it’ happened.

The moment this entire series was leading up to, the death of President Snow (as-well as Coin, I couldn’t stand her), felt a tiny bit rushed but was still fantastic. I feel like it’ll make more sense the second time I see it.

Katniss+walks+gif.gif

The scene where Katniss was yelling at Buttercup, and throwing things at the poor little cat, was freaking spectacular, J-Law brought the ugly cry, raw emotion into that, with literally everything she had, and it had me bawling. Just absolutely brilliant, I can’t praise that enough.

The ending scene before the epilogue where Katniss climbs into bed with Peeta absolutely tore my heart out, it was the moment I realised the franchise was over, and so to was a big part of our lives for the past 4 years.

” You love me, real or not real?

Real.”

That was my favourite part of the entire movie.

The epilogue was so cute, and the way Peeta and his child were playing, arghhh, just so sweet. Everything my babies went through led them to this moment.

A couple of little thoughts: The Effie and Haymitch kiss, oh my, I loved that whole scene where Effie was saying goodbye to Katniss and Haymitch. All the feels. Also, Jenna Malone was such a great Johanna, and really brought that character to life! Oh, oh, and Sam Claflin, thank you for a perfect Finnick and his sugar cubes.

I guess that’s it, I’m going to be seeing the movie again next week so I may add some things to this post, but all-in-all I loved the movie so much and they will forever live on in my heart. In all of ours.

Yeah that’s it,

Kate 🙂
